I’ve been thinking about doing this move for a long time but with recent events happening to our account and the break from new shows I feel now is the right time to move.
Instead of writing a long post about why I moved the RNEI account I thought I’d list some of the main reasons:
- I’ve been banned from logging into the @RNEI_official account twice in the past 2 years.
It doesn’t feel ok to this to happen. - The management of Twitter/X are actively engaged in current politics in an outspoken manner and the platform doesn’t feel like a place to foster a political-free fun space that RNEI wishes to create.
We constantly are getting “recommended” politically charged posts including graphic war violence. This is not ok to me.
Merging these “recommended” posts inside of our notifications has made this an even bigger issue to me. - Users without a Twitter/X account can no longer view our posts on Twitter/X. This is a big issue because Twitter’s open viewing was one of the reasons we made an account in the first place.
- Twitter/X seems to be gaining more and more scam bots in recent years.
- Trying new things is fun! Why not try out a new, open platform for posting our announcements!
Twitter /X isn’t even that widely used, it’s primarily USA & Japan:

Considering all of this, it seems only logical to try a different platform and see what happens, we hope to see some of you over at our new Bluesky page!
